Lake Amadeus Ed 1/15- Greg Mallyon
During the 2020 pandemic I decided to return to digital printing as a medium . I had years of honed skills plus a large archive of photos and sketches from my travels .I also enjoyed scanning textures I found in nature such as tree trunks ,rocks or lichen from my property. These were layered with drawings and aerial photos of many locations throughout Australia and feature geological formations including salt lakes and dry creeks in desert regions , wetlands in places like Kakadu or intricate rockpools and eco systems in coastal areas
These digital prints feature multiple layers and are embellished with hand details and varnished with a matt glaze to provide further UV protection . They are printed on 300gsm museum quality rag paper in small limited editions of 15.
